unfortunately the crafting circle was postponed until next week because it is a rainy, gross day. but thats okay, because now i have something to do next weekend. i was planning on bringing some monster bags that i want to get faces sewn on today, but i will probably get that done at home and not know what to bring next week! haha, oh well.
so, i turned around about halfway to waynesboro because it was raining pretty bad, came home and got alex and we went to see mr. brooks. it was really, really good! i liked it a lot. and not just because dane cook is a hottie. he is seriously a big ball of scruffy gorgeousness in this movie. damn. |

sometimes, when i realize how super shy i am, i get angry at myself. i wish i could be outgoing and vibrant with everyone i meet. i'm really going to try harder.
i also think i am going to try to update this thing more regularly, with updates on things i am making, etc. it's hard for me to find the time to do everything i want these days..and to get all the work and sewing done that i want to do. i think having a commitment to blogging about it might help me out.
this weekend i am going to a craft circle and i'm excited! i'm gonna bring some sewing, hopefully i'll get faces sewn on a lot of monster bags. it's always the hand-sewing that takes me forever...once i get that done, i can finish a bag with the machine in like 5 minutes. there is one little thing that i'm nervous about, someone is going to be there that i haven't seen since we stopped being friends, and i just don't want it to be awkward or confrontational. i wish we could be civil. sometimes i miss her, sometimes i don't. |

we have a new little baby kitten. she is 9 weeks old, but she is the tiniest thing you've ever seen! she was the runt of the litter. i really want to name her violet, but alex isn't so sure. she has a black nose and she's adorable!
nina and sushi are still getting used to her, they're growling at her and hissing when she gets too close, so we're keeping them separated and integrating them slowly. |

Things are lovely, my life is working out how I want it to. I'm free of negative influences. It's spring and the weather is rainy but it feels amazing. |

in the past week or so, i have acquired a lot of awesome stuff:
*jar of random vintage buttons and jewelry
*toddler's nightgown and dress--both of which i plan on using for fabric. the nightgown is white with red bows, and the dress is a cute dino print
*about 4 or 5 various chains that i plan on making pendants for
*a totally sweet dress from goodwill, one of the best things i've ever found there!
*an awesome green hairdo
*a big bottle of mod podge and some hi-shine glaze
*lots of jewelry findings (jump rings, earring posts, fishhook earrings, etc for making jewelry to sell)
*white sculpey
*a bunch of new zippers for my purses (i ran out, so this was a must!!)
*magnetic snaps for purse closures
*my very own fabric tags with my logo, to sew onto my creations
*AMAZING pens called souffle...they're by sakura, the same company that makes those gelly roll pens that everyone used to love. anyway, the ink actually dries 3-d, and it is really soft and puffy. i got a pack of 10 gorgeous pastel colors. i am totally obsessed with them already!
*big pack of cardstock for business cards and thank you cards to throw in with my orders when i ship them
*oh yeah, and i almost forgot..A FUCKING WII!!!! that's right bitches, alex and i are now proud parents of a bouncing baby wii. so far we only have wii sports (duh) and wario ware...but cooking mama comes out tomorrow and i might need to get it.
anyway, i know thats a big list of stuff but everything is being put to good use. tonight, i made poop & pee earrings, they are really cute. i also made cupcake earrings and two pairs of button earrings. pictures tomorrow, definitely. and i'll also be listing them on etsy. tomorrow will be dedicated to sewing, since i made jewelry today. i'll be working on some monster pouches, a couple clutches, and some iPod/cellphone cozies. check back!!!

just thought i'd write a little update on life these days. alex and i are doing well settling into the apartment, now that it's only ours. we have a christmas tree and its pretty, i even made a cute zombie angel out of felt for the top. we are going to decorate lots of ornaments and hang them up, probably on thursday. i'll be sure to post pictures of our finished tree. its our first christmas living together and it's really exciting. oh, and we have a real bed now! its weird not being on a mattress on the floor, but its a good weird. my family is awesome and always pulls through for me when i need them. i'm sorry for people that don't have that love. i'm thankful for the small things.
kristy is not talking to me at all. despite the fact that i appologized for everything that i could have possibly appologized for. it's the weirdest thing. she even avoids any mention of my name in conversation, apparently. i'm not the only one that is fucking confused by all of it, but oh well. supposedly she just doesn't want to be around me anymore. which is kind of hard, considering we work together. i don't know. i'm done pressing the issue. i guess i don't fit in to her strange idea of what a friend should be. we did have some good times when we were friends though.
ANYWAY. time to get ready for work. oh yeah! and i think i've come up with a kind of signature idea for my crafts..so hopefully now i can stop being lazy and start creating things. |

life is going to be okay.
kristy finished moving out on sunday. alex and i did a heavy duty cleaning job on every room in the house, did some rearranging in our living room, some organizing here and there. our house looks perfect. (realized that the carpet is a little gnarly looking from kristy's dog, but thats what a security deposit is for so its ok.) anyway after the house was finished, i started cooking for my pre-thanksgiving dinner, since i am working on thursday. i made an awesome chicken and spinach lasagna with white cheese sauce. for dessert, i made an apple cake with caramel topping. all from scratch! my grandparents, aunts, uncle, dad, sister, and brothers all came over. they brought an amazing salad, green beans, bread, and one of my aunts brought another cake for dessert. my mom had mailed some chocolate chip cookies and some buckeyes for me to serve as well. everyone had a great time. people complimented me TONS on my cooking and it felt really good. i have always gotten a lot of satisfaction out of preparing and serving meals, and i realized that cooking and baking are two passions that i've always had. last night for dinner i made alex and i bacon and provelone turkey burgers with my new totally sweet george foreman grill, lol. i mixed in some sake, minced garlic, and basil in the ground turkey. they were good and i realized i love experimenting with ingredients and stuff. anywaayy now that i've completely trailed off, back to the thanksgiving thing. it was great spending time with my family. they loved my house and they all have tremendous faith in alex and i, it just feels really good. so, yay. i guess thats all i really wanted to write about. the holidays are coming and i'm totally excited. yay! |
